Grateful that I can bless the lives of the people here in my area!

Hey everyone!
How are things going?  Things are going great here. Just having a good ol time waiting for Christmas! I got the packages. Everything is still all wrapped up and looking nice!  I did enjoy the candy though :)

This week has been good and really fast. I feel like I just emailed yesterday.  Yesterday, we made history in the church... we had a special stake conference and they split the Kumasi Stake. Now we have the Ghana Bantima Stake and the Ghana Dechemso Stake. Its cool to see the church grow. At the conference we were able to hear form President Holmes and Elder Curtis. It was very cool to see how the church is growing. I also got to see some of my recent converts! They are all doing great and are strong in the gospel. Some of them have callings and it makes me happy to see them.

Well this week we are having our Mission Christmas party. We are all getting together and having some fun on Thursday. It should be good and fun.  So next week is Christmas and I don't really have a planned time of when to call home. I will have to discuss it with my companion. One of us will call in the morning and the other in the evening...  so I will let you know next week.
We are having a baptism this week!!!! If she passes the interview... her name is Sister Pat. She is very powerful. She has a huge amount of faith. When we first met her she did not even go to church. She did not know she could pray for herself and she just did not understand the gospel. But, as we have been teaching her she knows that everything is true! She just accepts it right then and there. Whenever we teach her,  she always asks "why?" and then we explain it better and she just says "OK". She has a very powerful testimony.  The other day she got very sick and her mother took her to the hospital. She spent the night in the hospital. While she was sleeping she had a dream and she told us the all she saw in her dream were Elder Kaufusi and Elder Riddle and then she woke up. She figured out that she needed to have a blessing (we have not taught her about priesthood blessings yet) but she figured it out by herself. So the next day she called us and we went and gave her a blessing. She is doing great now and she is looking forward to her baptism on Sunday!! I know the priesthood is in this church and I am so grateful that I can bless the lives of the people here in my area with it.
love you all

Worn out in the work!

Hey everyone.
How are things going?  How is the cold? Don't worry, I am also starting to get cold as well here.
Well, this week has gone by fast. Yesterday as we were going to church I said Were we just here yesterday? Man weeks are flying by. This week we have had a ton of let downs. We have been trying to give baptismal dates but our investigators are all leaving for Christmas soon. It is killing our teaching pool.  But, we will keep on doing the work as best we can.
Today we had a zone activity and we just came together as a zone and played some games and talked. I have 3 former companions in this zone Udo, Chiweshe, and Sharma and my companion. That is cool! It was good to see and talk with them.
There is a rumor around the mission that we are going to have a Christmas party on the 19th. That should be good. The entire mission should be getting together.
I am sorry that I don't have much to say this week. But, you all should be getting to talk to me on christmas.... its only like what 16 days a way?!!!!!
Well this week has made me very tired... dad always told me how tired he got on his mission, not physically but spiritually and now I know how that feels. This week has taken a stick and beat me until I was both physically and spiritually tired. But, I know tomorrow I will feel a ton better.
well i love you all
have a great week.

The church is true!

Hey guys, how is it going?
It sounds like you guys enjoyed your Thanksgiving. How was the food? I can't even imagine how good the food was and how much there was of it! So, what are the plans for Christmas? Are you guys staying in Utah <003.gif>?   I saw the pictures you sent me and man everyone is getting so old (not mom of course) but Kaylee looks like she is 10, Mic looks as if she could now beat me up, and Alex is starting to look like Amanda... sorry Amanda I was not saying you look old... Rachele is starting to look responsible <360.gif>. Nick looks like a skinny Santa. Amanda... looks very stubborn still<338.gif>  but ya, everyone is changing. I don't know about dad because it seems he is afraid of the camera!
This week has been a very challenging for me. We have been having problems with one of our investigators, sister Afia. I have talked to you guys about her before. She understands everything we teach but this week she has been acting like she does not know us and it is blowing my mind! I don't know what to do. Its not easy being a missionary.
We have had some success this week. We have been able to see some new people but the new people are college students. We have given baptismal dates to some of them but they are all leaving kumasi for the Christmas break in a few weeks. So, we will have to wait until they get back but that is not until February!!!!!!  The work is starting to slow down for us a little bit because everyone is getting ready for Christmas.
So mom was asking me some questions about my apartment and I just realized that I have not said much about it.... but in our apartment we have 4 elders we have a fairly large apartment its about the size of my apartment at Dixie.. it has 2 rooms a bathroom, a study room, a kitchen and a large room that we use as our washing room. We have lights (most nights) and we have water. When we have lights which is normal for Ghana. We live on the top floor of a 3 story building. Its great climbing the stairs every night.
Well thats about it right now. Nothing to cool going on just some teaching and a ton of walking!!! I love it! The church is true!

Thankful in Ghana

Hey guys!
How are you doing? I am sorry but this email is going to have to be short.... I have been having problems with my computer.... ): This week has been great! We have had some success (not a ton) but some. We are planning on doing something for Thanksgiving. I don't know what, but we will take some pictures for you guys. It sounds like you guys are having a fun holiday season (which reminds me... don't for get about me while black friday shopping, I need a new long sleeve shirt so I can look fresh when coming home)
We just entered into a new transfer. Nothing is happening with me and Elder Kaufusi, but things are changing in our district.  Its crazy to think about, but I only have 3 transfers left. I can not believe it. Time is going to fast.
Well, I am thankful this turkey (chicken for me) season for my lovely family. For helping me throughout my life and my mission. I love you all!!!  Have a good Thanksgiving

Look what I found!!!!!

Hello everyone!
How are you guys doing?   Well this week has been a normal week. We have been finding people to teach trying to give baptismal dates but they always say, "I have already been baptized".  S,o we have to go this week and resolve some concerns but all in all this week has been good .

Louisa was confirmed yesterday at church. While she was being confirmed I had a very happy thought come to my head that said ...Ah now she has the Holy Ghost she does not need to depend on anyone anymore just the Holy Ghost, and that she is now in the hands of the members, we have passed her on. But this thought also made me sad because I don't know if I trust these members with my recent convert. This year in the ward we are in they have had 24 baptisms. But, already 5 of them have become less active. I think Louisa will be come a very powerful leader in the church. We told her after her baptism and confirmation to write down her feelings about everything and she has 3 or so pages written down just about her baptism. She is very in tune with the spirit, and i love it.

Tomorrow is going to be a joke for teaching because Ghana is playing football and it is a qualifying match for the world cup. Everyone is going to watch. So, watch for me! I don't know if you can find it on the tv but you should be able to watch on the internet.

Wednesday is my companions birthday so we are going to go and buy pizza or hamburgers it should be fun.

On Saturday is transfer news nothing should happen to me though

Well I hope you all have a good week

General Conference and Baptism!!

Hey everyone, how is it going?

This week has been great. We have not been able to have many lessons this week because we have been focusing on Louisa and her baptism but it was a very good week.

Tuesday was normal district meeting and a lot failed lessons ...
Wednesday was very busy. We had a meeting for all the trainers to see how the  training is going. That meeting went from 11 to 1:30 and we did not get home until 5 because of traffic. It was not good because then at 5pm we had our coordination meeting. So, we were not able to see anyone that evening.
Thursday we had another busy day. We spent a lot of time trying to find new people to teach and going over a few things with Louisa before her interview on Friday.
Friday was our only normal day. We taught some lessons and then at 5:30 we had to go to the church for Louisas interview (which she passed)
Saturday we had a service project with the sisters in our district for one of their investigators, we weeded their house.
Sunday the day I have been waiting for. Baptism!  Sunday was very good but a little long for church. We watched General Conference. Not just one secession but we watched 2. Both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning sessions. We did not end church until 1:00. It was long and then we had the baptism which was good but the members ruined it, they kept on saying that they had been their to long and wanted to go home.

Well thats my week... nothing to exciting but we had a baptism and that made all the bad days worth it.

I am alive and kicking and having a blast in Kumasi

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
No Ghana does not celebrate Halloween  but I kept the tradition going with carving the watermelon.( I think I will do that every year just so I can remember my mission) other than that though, halloween was sad nothing special happened.

This week has been sweet!  We have been trying very hard to focus on teaching with the spirit. And boy does it work. But, it makes you spiritually tired.... but its awasome.
My favorite lesson we had this week was our last lesson of the week. It was with  a sister named Gina or Georgina  and she is a referral from a recent convert named Jeff. She is very open and loves asking powerful questions about the lessons. Yesterday we went to teach her about prayer, and after teaching her we wanted her to pray. But, she was feeling to shy to pray in front of us. So, we kept on telling her why she needs to pray and not us. After about 5 min of talking I told her to take 10 seconds and try to find out if she is the one that needs to pray. After that ten seconds she says the spirit is telling me to pray! So, once again I invited her to pray. She was still feeling shy so we sat in silence for about 5 min why she thought about it. And then she told us that she has never prayed in public before and does not know how to pray out loud. We taught her some more and then she prayed and it took her a few min but she said a wonderful prayer. After she prayed I asked her how she feels. She said  "I feel like you guys are happy with me" and then I asked her who else is happy with you? She said God. Then I asked her who is the most happy right now? she had to think about that question but then she finally said in a very humble voice "me".  She had the biggest smile on her face because she realized that she could make herself happy by prying.. I know that the she will be baptized very soon because she felt the spirit and she knows that god answers prayers. She is one of my favorite investigators right now!
Well this Sunday we will be having a baptism at 1:00 and you are all invited....RSVP soon.   Lunch will be provided but not dinner.   The investigators name is Louisa and I think I told you about her last week? did I?  if not, she is 20 and the younger sister to a recent convert and lives in the middle of the bush.  She lives right on the edge of our area and she comes to church every week.  She is well prepared and I love it.
Well not much else happened this week. Just so you know I am alive and kicking and having a blast in Kumasi. I just noticed I have 5 months left and my companion just hit his 1 month mark today  funny right?   Missionary work is so fun!

Talking to Trees.......

Hello everyone!
How is it going this week? Wow I can not believe that another week has gone by! So fast, I mean I cant even remember what we did.... oh ya on Monday I said we were going to central market to buy food stuffs, it was very funny with my companion because he has never seen anything like it. A total culture shock for him! (i did not have the culture shock that bad because of our trip to Mexico). While we were walking around I was watching him and I could see his mind racing trying to see what was going on and take in every thing.(I will add some pictures of what we saw)
Tuesday was a normal day, district meeting and just a normal teaching day.
Wednesday  we were only able to have 2 lessons because some of our investigators were not able to learn with us so we walked around trying to find people to teach.
Thursday we had one good lesson with a man that makes a traditional cloth called kente. We talked to him about the restoration and had a very good lesson with him. The rest of the day was spent finding people (we are trying to build our teaching pool) We did find some people, even a member that did not know where the church was. She said that she had gone out that day trying to find one of 2 things, the church, or the missionaries. And after searching she came home disappointed.... and then we walked past, we talked to her for a little bit and even invited her to institute that same evening. She was very happy to find us. She had just moved up from Cape Coast and did not know anyone. God answers prayers!!  Also, just after finding her we had a lesson with a man named Bernard and he is a hippie. He was talking to me and my companion about how the trees talk to him and stuff like that. It was crazy but very funny.
Friday we had some good lessons gave some baptismal dates and just had a very good day. Some of our investigators I just love so much and I wait for the day we get to teach them.
Saturday was disappointing... we had one lesson with an investigator that wants to come to church but does not want to be baptized. I am confused of what to do with him. The rest of our day we spent trying to find more people but it did not work.
Sunday we had a great day. At church we had some good investigators come to church as well. One of whom wanted us to come and see her after church, so after church we tried to find her house ( i had never been to her house before she is a new investigator) After calling her many times we finally got to her house. It took us about 20 min drive to find her on the side of the road. And after we found her it was a 30 min walk to her house. she lives right on the edge of our area. We had a very good lesson with her and gave her a baptismal date for November 10th. She was investigating the church before but had to stop due to school but now she is back and wants to be baptized!
Today we are just emailing and then going home and taking a short nap and then going to see a few investigators. This week has been great, we found 6 new investigators and hopefully more this coming week.
I love you all and I hope you have a good week

Loss of Hamburgers!!!

This week has been great!!!

How has everything been? Anything fun going on this week?

This week we have been working a lot, looking for new investigators and spending time with our investigators that have baptismal dates. We are having success.... we are working hard and our goal for this next week is to contact more people and find more investigators.

I have been sitting here trying to come up with something cool to tell you, but I cant even think of anything.... the people we are teaching are also trying to teach my companion Twi.  He is picking it up a lot faster than I did. He has a great brain.... but it is very funny when I am having a conversation in twi (yes a Real and full Conversation)  he is just looking around trying to figure out what is going on... very funny....he is lost most of the time but I don't care because he is new.  He will catch on.

I can not really focus right now, that is why I am jumping around form topic to topic. My mind is going so fast and I dont know why...maybe its because of the loss of hamburgers? hahaha  I don't know.

This week we have a goal to go and find more investigators in an area we don't go to a lot.  We are hoping there are more people to talk to there.

Well I can't think of anything else to say so....... have a good week hopefully I will have more to say next week.....
sorry!!!!

New...as in fresh or green!

Good morning to you all!
How has your week been? Sounds like there are plenty of things going on back home... trips to St. George, taking school tests, fall break, and making apple cider. Wow sounds fun.

Well my life this week has been busy. We have been going from house to house all week, not doing missionary work but getting fed by members and investigators. Boy will people here kill you with food. We have not been doing much missionary work this week because my companion wanted to go and see all of the people in the ward and say good bye.  He is at the mission home right now and I am in a 3 sum with the District leader and his companion (who are also in our apartment). I will be getting my NEW companion tomorrow afternoon... yes, I said NEW, as in fresh or green. I am going to be training AGAIN!!! But, thats what I was guessing because this is the biggest group we have going and coming. I think 18 missionaries going home and 15 or so coming. I will find out who I am training tomorrow.
So the pictures I sent to most of you, I dont remember if I sent them to all of the same people I am sending this email to, but if you did not get pictures I am sorry!  but any who....   yesterday there was an investigator that wanted to feed all 4 of us missionaries and we came a little early so the food was not yet ready so we helped her cook a little (pounding the fufu) and sat on their couch, and I also played with their 5 year old daughter, we played tag and I forgot how long 5 year olds can play tag... we played for 30 min strait and she wanted to play more!!!! it was very fun to say the least.
Well I dont have much else to say, But I am loving my time in Ghana. Even if I do go home every night  with wet feet because of the rain. But its all good!!

Crazy Rain!

Hello everyone

How are things going? I hope you all had a good week watching conference and all!!! I wont get to see it until next month or so but I heard about the 15 million members thats crazy. But it also makes me think how many of those are less active or inactive? But still 15 million!!! the church is true!!!

This week we had our zone conference and it was cool. President Holmes mostly talked about sharing powerful testimonies with our investigators not just saying "i know that what my companion has said is true"  He wants us to think about what we do know is true and expound on that and tell our investigators that we KNOW that it is true. It was a powerful conference.

This week has been normal... not to many lessons.  But we are keeping two of our investigators on track for baptism on the 27th. I can not wait until that day!

Funny story yesterday (Sunday) we went on splits with some college students in our ward so we could teach more people. And when we finished our splits we met back at the apartment to eat something to brake our fast and while we were eating it started Raining.... now this rain is not Utah rain.... its crazy rain. The best way I can explain  it is by using the example of the flood gate on a dam!!! All that water falling from the sky!  And it rained the entire night so we had two ward missionaries stay over with us.   Funny Right?

Well I am doing great. Everything is going good!

"This is my Life"

Hey everyone sorry I did not email last week.... I was "busy".
This week I had one of the coolest lessons I have ever had on mission. I was on splits in my area with our district leader (Elder Komubbi from Uganda)   We went to teach one of our new investigators, Ma Dorothy, and we had taught her about the restoration but did not have time to teach her about the book of Mormon. So we went to teach her about the book of Mormon.  but before we knocked at her gate, Elder Komubbi and I looked at each other and said "we are not teaching about the book of Mormon today!" The spirit told us both to teach the plan of salvation... we did not know why, so before we started the lesson we started asking her questions about herself and her family. We found out that her husband died a couple of years ago and that she is very concerned about her family. So we started there, we taught the entire plan of salvation.... just from the bible (some how hard because you want to use the book of Mormon but she did not know about the book of Mormon)  but she understood everything. We even taught about baptisms for the dead, first time ever teaching an investigator about that. She was crying most of the lesson because she loves her family, wants her husband to be baptized by priesthood authority and  because she is an honest truth seeker.  The spirit was so strong and she accepted a baptismal date for October 27. I can not wait to teach her again. That lesson made every day worth it... I love the gospel!
This week we won't be going out much because we are having a zone conference, district meeting, and all of the foreign missionaries have to go to the police stations to register or something like that... I don't know why but we do.
So this week we might not be teaching a ton of lessons but we will be busy
Well I hope you all have a good week. Keep on working hard and playing harder! right? Maybe not if you guys are getting snow now!

Holes in the souls of my shoes

Hello Everyone!

How is the week going for you all?  How is work? How is school? How is sitting on the couch watching TV? Well what ever it is that you are doing I hope you enjoy it!!!

This week has been slow, because of a few things... 1. I have had a cold this entire week because its raining almost every night...not good especially when you have holes in the bottom of your shoes! 2. The ward I am in is a college ward, and I never would have thought that I would be saying this, but it makes me want to go to school again... no not for the schooling its self but for the student interaction. I feel so out of place when you see these college kids who are the same age as you going and having fun but your going to teach lesson, kind of weird.   Do you remember when I was saying we were teaching 25-30 lessons a week in buokrom, well now we teach 8 lessons a week I feel out of place. But other than that the week is good, slow, but good. I love the ward I am in because they speak English not twi. Soooo good!
Well I love you all and I will try and keep my companion active, hopefully it works he leaves to go home in 4 weeks.

Transfered to UST

Hello everyone! How are things going for you all this week?
This week has been a little different for me.. because I am now a "real" missionary. I am in a ward and have other people from this ward to help us with the missionary work. Its weird but a good weird.
My new companion is Elder Leishman. He is from Boise Idaho. He is a real cool guy and is scheduled to go home soon... the area is sweet we are over at the university which is called K.U.S.T. The funny part about this area is that its just a few miles away from Buokrom (my old area). In Buokrom  you could see all the airplanes coming and landing at the airport. In UST we see all of the air planes taking off. So I am very close to my old area. I can't really tell you about our investigators because I don't know them myself. But, from what I have seen is that this area has a ton of potential. A lot of people are being prepared for us, especially because school just re-opened. So, there are thousands of college kids here, and because of the college kids our ward just doubled in size!

This week I hope to know all of my investigators and find new ones because we dont have a lot of those. But, just keep me in your prayers.

Sorry this is a short email. I don't have much of time left.
I love you all so much!!!

They were baptized!!

Dear Everyone

Hello, how is everything going?  How is work/school/staying home?!
Well this week has just flown by. Elder Helgesen and I have been having a great week. First of all those two girls that were supposed to be baptized last week but weren't because of their mother, well we went and talked to the mom and helped her understand why the girls wanted to be baptized. She then said she would allow them to be baptized. YES!! I was so happy when she told us that. I could not believe it at all, but guess what? They were baptized yesterday(Sunday)!  Such a good feeling to have someone in the water!!
Also, I got transfer news on Saturday. I am being transferred to a ward, yes a ward! I have spent my mission in branches. The ward is called UST.  I am going to be with an Elder from Idaho (not sure how to spell his name) but I am very sad to be leaving Buokrom. I love this place. But, I must go where revelation points to right!  Well,  because I am leaving on Wednesday, today we are with the young men that go teaching with us ( Timothy and Richard)  and we are going to go eat pizza this afternoon it should be good.

Well, that's about everything form me. Hope you all have a good week

Baptism on Sunday

Hey everyone how is it going?

Well this week has been short and not so good. I have been a little discouraged because of something that happened this Sunday. We were supposed to have 3 baptisms but we only had one!  We were teaching Edna, Evelyn and Munik.  All of them had their baptismal interviews and everything but... Edna and Evelyn were told not to come to church and be baptized by their mother! The same mother that said she did not care what church her children went to!  So, I have been a little up set the past few days. It always seems that right when the work starts moving forward someone is blocking their way!!  But, on the up side we did have a baptism for Munik (Monik)  and she was very happy. She said after her baptism that she has been waiting for this for a long time. That really gave my attitude a boost.

hmm... my toe nail came off.  I had to pull it off because it was just flopping  around in my socks. I bet you all wanted to know that didnt you...  but it is all good now.

Transfer news is this Saturday, so maybe I will have something cool to tell you next week!

Well thats all for me
Have a good week

They have been joyfully accepting!!

Hello Everyone!
How is your week going? I hope that all is going well for you all!

This week has been an alright week. We have been working our butts off!  We have been giving our progressing investigators baptismal dates and they have been joyfully accepting them. It is so cool to see the gospel bring joy in to peoples lives. We are planning on having 3 baptisms on this Sunday the 25th and one on the 1st its going to be so cool! I can not wait until this weekend it will be a very good day.

So you all want to hear some thing cool?  I bet you do....   so last Monday we were playing football and as we were playing I got my foot stepped on by one of the other missionaries (who was wearing cleats). Well to make a long story short he stepped right on my big toe and now that toe nail is dead... it will be falling of in a week or so.   So, ya every step I take I enjoy the sweet pain of a dead toe nail!  so fun.... not!!

Well hmmm what else has been happening.... my companion, Elder Helgesen has like 3 or 4 women wanting him to marry them. Its really funny. They want him to marry them so they can go to the US... haha one of them even proposed to him. All he can do is laugh and say I am a missionary and then walk a way. Its a hoot  because they even tell me that I am to tall for them hahahaha

hmmm what else we had a service project with the Kumasi stake. We went to a hospital and cleaned up their building for them. It was cool. We had a ton of people talking to us about the church and telling us that they want to come to church. It was way cool!

Well, I think that is all I have to share this week. I got my package somehow.  (the zone leaders have it)  and so next week I will be sending pictures, thats if the camera is still in the package!!!!!  (:

Hey everyone!

Hey, well the internet today somehow sucks. So, I wont be able to send
anything long but just a brief over view of my week.

It has been a very short and fast week!!! Something cool that happened
this week, we have been walking with our young men all this week and
they have been with us as we are teaching. This week we have had 15
member present lessons and 7 recent convert lessons! It was a good week
for us. We are starting to see the blessing of hard work. We have found
several new investigators and are even receiving referrals from our
branch. Its going great, I love it!  We are hopefully going to have 3
baptisms on the 25th (all of them are referrals)  so like I said we
are starting to see the blessing from our hard work.

We are in the third week of this transfer and I can not believe how
fast these weeks have gone by. I am starting to think that I am going
to be transferred in 3 weeks, but I dont really want to. I have been in
this area for to long and I love the people here. But, if I am going to
be transferred that means I have to  work really hard before I do
right??? Thats what I am going to do.... work this place so even if I stay
I will see the results.

Well my internet is slowly getting worse so I have to get going. I
love you all and hope you have a good week!

Not very busy, but still scheduling Baptisms!

Hey, how is everything going every one? I hope that by the grace of God everyone is doing great!
Well, this week was been some how a slow week for us. We did not teach as many lessons as we normally do. It is because we have been trying to find new investigators in a newer part of our area. I am tired, we have been talking to everyone but nothing seems to be coming from it right now. We do have a couple of  un-serious investigators that we have begun teaching, but, like I said they are un-serious. But, we teach when we find and find when we teach, so hopefully we will get some one out of them... on the up side we had an activity on Saturday for our branch. We watched the Restoration film the one that's 1 hr, and most of the members that came and brought their friends with them. So, this week we have plenty of referrals to contact, so its going good I guess.

hmm what else happened to us... we gave a baptismal date to one of our investigators. It was our second time teaching her and we were teaching her about the Book of Mormon. She has been coming to church for about 3 or so weeks and she asked us if she could be baptized. She said she has prayed about the restoration and Joseph Smith and she knows its true. She is someone that is well prepared for the gospel. PS. she is also a referral (they always get baptized)

The new Elder...Elder Bradley has malaria... he came down with it last night and then it got worse this morning. All I could do is laugh because I know how he fills right now, its not fun!!!

But, I think that is everything from me. I hope everything goes well for you all this week!!

Slow Week

Hello from Ghana
This week has been long, not a lot of things happening. I got a little sick on  Wednesday and Thursday but other than that I am doing alright. Oh ya, I talked to someone about my stomach problems and I got pills. So I am getting healthy this week.
As far as the work is going... its at a stand still. We were planning on having a baptism this week but, she never showed up to her interview. So, that means no  baptism. This week we are starting off fresh... we are going to find new investigators! I am starting to get tired of people not being serious. So this week we are going to an area that we don't go to a lot and we are going to act like it is a new area and contact everyone! So here it goes!
hmm what else happened to us...I cut my hair, one of the Elders in our apartment (Elder Bradley) also tried to cut his hair but... he forgot the guard so we had to fix it for him (:  he now looks like a skin head... its kind of sad but really funny at the same time.
Other than that this week has been slow nothing new is going on. I hope this next week will be better for us and I will be able to tell you guys more stories.
Hope you have a good week, love you all

This week has been a little sad for me!

Hey everyone! How is everything going?
This week has been a little sad for me! You know how we were planning on having 2 baptisms this week? Well, we didnt have them, we moved one of them to next week and the other one won't be happening. Her father does not want her to baptize because he wants her to go to the same church as him. As you might have noticed, I have faced this problem my entire mission. Someone wants to be baptized but someone else is standing in their way. But, thats how it is going to be.
My week has been ok. Other than the baptisms failing. We have been trying to find new people to teach in a different part of our area. So, we are busy trying to find new investigators. I feel once we get a few investigators in this part of our area we will start having more baptisms.
On Saturday,. we got transfer news. Nothing is changing for me. I am in the same apartment with my same companion.  It is good thou because I want to see these investigators that we have been working on get baptized.
Oh ya as of today... I have 6 transfers left and that means 36 weeks! Its crazy how time is flying by!
Well thats my week. Once I get my camera, I will start taking pictures again. I am going to set a goal of taking one picture every day the rest of my mission (once i get the camera)  but it will be great!

The work is progressing

Hello Everyone

This week has been an alright week, nothing to special. We had some good lessons and had some failures too, but its all good in Ghana. Something did happen this week that made me sad... Nana Ama ( the one we gave the blessing to)  she wants to be baptized but her husband does not want her to be baptized... he says that they should go to the same church... so we are going to teach him more, we have taught him once or twice but he does not have time for us. This week we are going to focus on him!  The part that made me sad is that we were going to have her baptism this next Sunday the 21st but we are going to have to postpone it until her husband agrees.

Well other than my camera breaking :( sad face. nothing to much has happened this week.

Next week we are planning on having 2 baptisms yeah!!!  Felicity, and Matilda. They are both very happy with the gospel. I love it!  I can see the happiness it is bringing them.  I don't know if I told you but Felicity is from Tamale. We came down to Kumasi the same week! Its just weird how the lord prepares people. Matilda is a part member investigator. Her younger sister joined the church about 6 months ago and her uncle is a member in Germany. I love this gospel its the best!

Oh ya, today for p-day our zone came together to play some games and such, sack races, basketball, and egg toss. and afterward we had a water fight with the sachet waters water in a bag they sell here, it was a water balloon fight!!!

Well I think that is all from this week
Love you all!
